“I arrived early at the Portobello, this was not a problem, my room was ready for me so I got to check in and dump my heavy bags. The room was huge and had front facing views. It definitely ticked all the right boxes so far. I went out exploring the city and came back exhausted. Regardless dumped the shopping bags and went out to find somewhere to have something to eat. I didn't try the adjoining bar for food because I don't like to go in to bars on my own. There is a nice choice of places to eat nearby. Got back to the hotel and ran a bath and I have to say it is lovely to have a hotel where 1. The water is hot and not just warm and 2.It doesn't take ages to fill the bath. Time for bed and it was a lovely comfortable bed, with plenty of pillows. I didn't notice any noise at night and had no problems sleeping at all. A great hotel and I will definitely be back!”

“Staff were very friendly. Hotel was close to bus transportation and a few diverse small restaurants. Bathroom was large with modern shower and drying rack. Kettle, cookies and fan were nice extras in the room”

“The staff were friendly, the rooms comfortable. Because I had not stayed there in a while, they gave a complimentary Irish breakfast for coming back, which had not been included in my reservation.”

“Good location, short walk from Dublin centre. Room for five is pretty hard to find - cheaper than two rooms for a family of five. Full breakfast very good.”

“The cosy atmosphere, the kindness of the staff, the well-equiped room.”

“We were in the suite room which was very comfortable although although the temperature of the shower could go from very cold to very hot quickly. The staff were all very friendly and very helpful especially Mario on reception who had organised for a bottle of prosecco to be ready in the room for when we arrived. Yes the room was above the bar and was noisy however we were aware of that from reading reviews and it didn't affect our stay at all. The breakfast was very nice with a good selection and very well priced. For a 2 star hotel and the price we paid, honestly couldn't complain. We would definitely go back.”

“When you could find them, the staff were friendly enough. The smoked salmon and scrambled eggs was nice for breakfast. The room I was given was nice and spacious.”

“For a 2* hotel it offers more. Room is big, bed and pillows are comfortable, in a quiet area just slightly outside of the main tourist area but still plenty of very near places to go to for food, drinks etc. less than 10mins from St Stephen's Green and the bus routes from the airport and tram and cinema. There is a popular bar downstairs if you fancy a drink and dont want to stray too far. Good breakfast. The hotel fitted our purpose for travelling to Dublin.”

“The location is just great, at the heart of the most vibrant part of Dublin and close to great pubs and cafes. One of the best pubs is actually on the ground floor of the hotel itslef! The hotel overlooks the Grand Canal with wide view. The room was large and compfortable. Staff was very helpful. Irish breakfast is very rich. The hotel has an interestin history that could be advertised more (it was part of the 1916 Easter rising)”
