“We absolutely love the 2 level, sound proof and very spacious suite in this hotel with its own balcony and lounge. The bed and linen was good; the suite perfectly clean. The hotel is very centrally situated, so it was very easy to discover some interesting small towns nearby. The view from the hotel restaurant was stunning. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I will definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.”
“Pousada de Marvao was a delight and more than expected. Staff were warm and friendly. Tucked in the castle walls, you navigate the narrow cobblestone streets to find parking in a nearby public parking lot. A bit of a walk up steps to the hotel with bags. A single elevator helps with some of the steps, but our 4th floor room had the view plus some extra steps with bags. Twin beds from a few centuries back but comfortable. Walk thru the village to tour the castle keep and then wine at a small wine bar overlooking the village and town. Then dinner at the Pousada which was superb and very well priced - great value. Breakfast included which was stellar buffet. Plus the fun of navigating the narrow roads to and from, and the many switch backs as you drive to the mountain top village of Marvao.”
