“It's a heritage seaside pub, very old, not flash, but the location is exquisite and the food was wonderful. There was even a decent Premier Cru Chablis on the wine list. Perfect!”

“Location amazing, but not a lot to compare the hotel with as Clovelly is so small. Staff and facilities in hotel very good and had a great meal in hotel restaurant. Would suggest booking because there is no option in the vicinity. Parking also a bonus. Would recommend and stay again although because of the captive market I feel the rooms are a little overpriced. Breakfast was delicious as well”
“Room was quirky, lots of angles and cute oak beams. View from the room was of the small working fishing harbour. Dinner was 1st class, fresh lobster, with excellent wine choice. Breakfast was also top drawer, best eggs benedict that I've had for some time. All staff were very friendly and helpful. We arrived late in the day, so no parking available, however the lady on reception moved her car to create space, that's going the extra mile. Well done to everyone at the Red Lion Hotel, we thoroughly enjoyed our mini break.”

“The Hotel sits on the Quay in one of the most attractive villages in the U.K. It's best moments come from about 3pm when the hundreds of day trippers go home leaving the harbour and the pub peaceful and totally idyllic. The bar is basic but good whilst the restaurant is smart and attractive. Service is good, maybe surprisingly so as the team get absolutely mashed by crowds through the day. Natalie in the restaurant is simply outstanding. We had the best cooked lobster we've had anywhere in the world. It's a unique place”
