“Very helpful and friendly staff, excellent breakfast, comfy rooms, good location and lovely little swimming pool”
“Restaurant food was good value and beautifully cooked. Breakfasts are generous - buffet style. My room was small as it was only a single but comfortable. The location is good, and the appearance and style/history of the place is impressive.”
“Great location. Hotel tucked away from traffic noise but literally stones throw from beach. Has a olde worlde charm and great history but the welcome was warm, staff friendly if a bit over keen at dinner time to take orders, clear plates etc but minor point as overall my stay was very comfortable, nice big room, spotlessly clean, comfortable bed and good facilities and easy parking. The Food both at Breakfast and Dinner was fabulous, very good quality, home cooked, generous portions and tasty. My stay was just what I needed to get away from the Rat race for a couple of days and this hotel was the perfect one to do that in. Thank you to all the staff for making my stay vey pleasant”
“Historical setting, with a good story about the Yorks and Princess Victoria. Nothing too much trouble. Seafront just a short stroll away, as is the Manor Pavilion Theatre, in the opposite direction. Enjoyed the swimming pool.”
“Lovely building, good atmosphere, interesting guests”
“It is family run and this was evident throughout the hotel. Nothing was too much trouble and the staff were charming.”
“Hotel had a lovely old English feel, very clean and well kept. Room was comfortable the bathroom was nice. All staff were very polite and welcoming, breakfast was fantastic very tasty and great service from the staff. They made a fuss of the little one and made sure his food wasn't brought out too hot. Parking was easy, easy access for prams along the side of the hotel. Only a minute or so from the sea front!”
“An excellent hotel with great service and a wonderful location. It has a long history and we enjoyed learning about that history while we stayed there. Queen Victoria stayed there as a child.”
“Excellent location - a few minutes walk to the beach. Free parking on site. Characterful Hotel. Friendly welcome. Great breakfast.”
“Lovely family run hotel with history and character. Very good location. Situated at the base of Peak Hill, very close to the sea and an easy walk along the seafront into the centre of Sidmouth. Hotels in Sidmouth are not cheap but this one offers very good value. Parking in Sidmouth is also at a premium and we found it easier to park at The Royal Glen than in some of the seafront hotels where we have stayed before. Good restaurant.”
