“We came by train to Basel via Geneva in the evening. Leaving the SBB, Basel via the bridge across the railway Station we came directly to Gempenstrasse. The hostel is located 400 m down this street planned for pedestrians. A well informed reception gave us a modern room and a free transport pass for buss and tram in Basel Stadt and Basel Land. We felt very safe in this area. It was a short distance to city center by tram or by walking via the bridge across the railway station. Recommended: If you plan to travel by train or bus in Switzerland for some days: Go to the tourist office/SBB in the station building and ask for a Swiss Travel Pass SBB for the periode you are staying. It will give you price reduction in sport resorts as well, example: aerial cableways in Grindelwald etc. .”
“Excellent location (less than 5 minutes from the station. Extremely friendly staff, keen to tell you every thing. Very good wifi (I was watching premier league online). They offered a free card for pupils transportation. Bus 36 3 minutes from the hotel can take you to the center and the lake. Tram 11 also is 3-5 minutes walk. They have a kitchen that you can use. Although it is my first time to have shared bathroom but it was very clean (exactly like 5 star hotel). Tea and coffee are available 24 hrs for free in the restaurant. They allowed me to check in early ( around 11:30)”
