“Fantastic Hotel , Staff very helpful and friendly , with plenty of well prepared locally sourced food to choose from. Rooms warm, comfortable and modern, great showers.Always try and stay here when I am in Shetland.”
“The hotel uses local produce such as tweeds, food and local art”
“Nicely decorated room. Good WiFi. Food was very good, breakfast and evening meal options were of a high standard. Helpful and welcoming staff. Would be my first preference on future visits to Shetland.”
“A very comfortable room and a great central location on the islands without being in the larger, busy, town of Lerwick. Restaurant is reputed to be the best on the islands and I can say, it was the best we found having a good bar selection and restaurant option. Breakfast was excellent with a wide choice of hot and cold (or both) and started the day off very well!”
“There was NOTHING to dislike about our stay at the Scalloway Hotel. The hosts Peter and Caroline could not have made us more welcome and they went out of their way to personalise our visit. Their staff were exceptional, funny and entertaining - take a bow Adele, Robert and David as well as the other staff behind the scenes. The pub facilities suited us brilliantly . The food was absolutely first rate. The pub atmosphere and vitality was fantastic and so welcoming . The rooms were clean and well maintained. The freshly caught lobsters and crabs personally shown to us by Peter, and prepared for dinner that night, well demonstrates the Scalloway Hotel's focus on quality local produce teasing the taste buds of visitors to the Shetlands! We had THE MOST enjoyable time whilst staying at the Scalloway Hotel. It really was a special experience.”
“Great food and excellent accommodation. Very friendly place to stay highly recommended”
“The breakfast was excellent with great choice and the evening meal was also excellent. It was a miserable day when we arrived, but in the hotel it was warm and friendly. Our room was comfortable, clean and with everything that we needed. Also we enjoyed the Museum, just a short walk away and the Palace opposite the Museum. We learnt a lot from both places.”
“While the front of House area of this hotel clearly needs a bit of an upgrade, my cosy room, although small, had been completely refurbished recently. The bathroom was excellent with a walk in shower. Good reliable WIFI and tea/coffee making facilities too. However the highlight was the breakfast – an outstanding continental spread with some excellent speciality bread. Cooked available as well and although I didn’t partake in this the fact that it was to order is always a good sign. The £95 for a single per night initially seemed pretty steep but after a stay this pleasant I think it was worth it!”
“Very comfortable updated room with all conveniences, comfy bed, lovely linen and toiletries. A fabulous restaurant ... seriously good food ... very friendly and hospitable proprietors and team. A+++ all round from us!”
“My flight to Shetland was late, and I wasn't going to make it in time for dinner. However, after calling the hotel the receptionist said they would still make me something. I arrived 5 minutes before the kitchen closed and got the tastiest roast dinner I've ever had :)”
