He gave us good tips on cheap restaurants and organised surf lesson for us with a great teacher.Also, we used its driver service to come from colombo, and everything was smooth, with good communication on this with him before our arrival.The accommodation was very clean, big with a confortable and huge bed. Breakfast was good as well, and staff always smiling.I will definitly recommend this Place, only 1 minute from the beach and great value for money.”

“The room was modern and clean and had a good location. Beds were very comfortable and the air conditioning was excellent. The supermarket downstairs was great and very convenient. Breakfast was ok but lacked fresh fruit, only fruit juice availablr.”

“The room was large and clean. The bed's mosquito net was clutch since I slept with the windows open and fan on (no air-con). The bathroom had nice fixtures and wallpaper. Compared to other places similarly priced in Arugam, this was waaay cleaner. It's on the quieter side of town but short walk to everyone you'd go in the bay. Tuk tuk's are everywhere and there's 2 companies across the street that offer shared taxi's and safari's. They'll call around to all the other companies (and their friends) to get you going where you need to be.”

“At first we planned to stay in the hotel for 2 nights only. Once decided to stay there for 3 more days, we prolonged our booking in Shadow Bay. Not once we change of the hotel as we felt very good in the one. It is not only due to the fact that the hotel is newly built, clean and comfortable but also that the personnel made us feel as home. Hotel owner is a very helpful and open minded person. He knows his business well and was very helpful for us e.g. organizing activities outside hotel, giving tips of “where to” nature and suggested restaurants, surf shops, bars, etc. offering best price to quality rate possible. The hotel is situated in the city center, close to everything you may think of including best grocery store in the town, beach, restaurants, souvenir shops etc. Should we visit Arugam Bay anytime in the future, we will definitely stop at Shadowbay Hotel.”
