“We were taken such good care of. This amazing hotel is an oasis of a busy old town Kunming street. No one knows that it's there. Once you are inside the doors, in the inner sanctum, you feel comforted and cared for. The room was large and comfortable. The breakfast experience was charming. But most outstanding was the manager, Leon, who went to great trouble to take care of us, including driving us to the far-away bus station, after his working hours, to get tickets to Dali for the next day - because he worried that it would be sold out. While we were in Kunming, we both had a stomach virus. Leon found actual Gatorade to help us rehydrate. The level of care he and everyone at Silver Chest Boutique Hotel was so kind and detailed.”

“Everything... location: in the middle of the city very close to the walking street and shopping area but very quiet when you are in the hotel compound. decor, comfort, the little details in the room: you can tell the owner restored this old 1930 house with love and true to the original style, down to the heavy old style brass lock on the door but with all the modern comfort. loved the sweet red Chinese date and white fungus soup they put in the room every evening.”
