“We were the only people there that night. Our host was very welcoming and cooked a delicious supper, nothing was too much trouble. The hotel had originally been a school that he had attended as a little boy. Twice he came to knock on our door to let us know that the aurora was present, although we had beaten him to it. Outside decking area to view from so noo sitting in car or waiting around, you just went back in if you got cold. Fantastic display of red and green lights, especially as there was minimal light pollution. Asbyrgi Gorge well worth a visit, we walked on the top of the rim, autumn colours.”
