“Lovely, family run hotel, right by the river so we could see all the ducks swimming past our window. We didn't realise there was a restaurant until we arrived so we did not have a chance to try it as we know 2 very good places in the old town to eat. Next time we shall have to stay for 3 nights to try it! The hotel is right outside the beautiful old town and only takes a minute to get there.”
“Nice hotel, just across the road from the main town. Underground parking available at 5 euros per night, a bit tight parking wise, but secure. Good breakfast.”
“Helpful friendly staff, even posted stuff back to UK for me which I left by mistake.”
“Good hotel in great location - right in the heart of the historic old town of Wertheim. Friendly staff, clean room and comfy bed. Good breakfast.”
“Great old hotel in the heart of town. Views of the Tauber River out of our window.”
“We had a large and very well furnished room facing the river. The view was fantastic. The owner is very friendly and helpful. The garage is just below the building, easy access to rooms via an elevator makes moving of suitcases easy. The location is perfect: you just cross the street and you are in the heart of the old town. Still, as the windows were facing the river the night was very quiet (so was the morning).”
“The location by the river was much nicer than you often end up with on an overnight stop over. The large Greek restaurant was a bonus and the owner came down to help us park in the underground garage - which was just as well: it is incredibly tight!”
“A very friendly hotel in a great location. Good breakfast and good value for money.”
“The receptionist was superb, explaining access to the basement garage (€5 per night, but limited to about 9 cars), the automated fire-door system and recommending what to look for in the AltStadt. Unfortunately, in almost continuous torrential rain, we saw less than we would have wished in the centre of Wertheim, and the view from the room, overlooking the River Tauber, would have been splendid in good weather. For train buffs, the local service runs on the opposite bank, on a track on top of a stone embankment. There is a remarkable ruined Burg, or fortress, high above the Old Town, but the weather prevented us from even considering the ascent! Perhaps in another year.”
“The owners were very friendly and helpful after a bit of a bumpy start.”
