“Lovely old building. Expansive unkempt garden, not overlooked. Once grand but now dated rooms”
“There was no cooked breakfast which I was aware of, but the Continental breakfast was poor.”
“Nice hotel in a nice setting. Room was comfortable and staff were friendly. Price is good for Bristol (although I personally think Bristol accommodation is generally too expensive)”
“Crumpets for breakfast - that's a first! Slept really well, which is unusual for me in a hotel. Cracking shower!”
“This is a quaint hotel, rather reminiscent of Fawlty Towers (without Basil!), with a very helpful manager, comfortable rooms and even a resident cat!”
“peaceful location near the city. Having a fresh fruit bowl in the breakfast room was good.”
“Clean room and bathroom, comfortable bed. Breakfast was a bit disappointing with basic selection of cereals, jams and sad looking crossiants. Good coffee and juice though”
“Same day booking and was happy. Didn't read the booking properly so missed there was only continental breakfast. Would help if they had cheese to go with the ham. Everything was fine. I had room 18 which is not ensuite, bathroom across the landing, but the hotel called me and made sure I was happy with this. Good approach as not everyone would be. The nearest pub for an evening meal is the Kings Arms which is under a mile walk away. There is a Mac Donald's 300m way but not my thing. The Kings Arms does food up to a certain point and I missed that point so I settled for a pork pie, scotch egg and 2 pints of Courage Best. Nice pub worth the walk down the hill.”
“Lovely breakfast. This hotel is ideal for the purpose we required. Easy reach by bus to Bath and Bristol, with Street and Wells also available after changing. Staff could not be more helpful in this dated but lovely Hotel.”
“Attractive garden & building. Room with 4 poster bed comfortable enough”
