“This hotel is in need of a facelift and a good clean: Antiquated bathroom facilities (shower not attached to wall, so a balancing act of handheld shower head in bath?!); thick dust on dark red carpet under bed (especially along wall). Breakfast is served in bar area where floor is not well swept after night before and there isn’t a table cloth in sight. The full English breakfast and Cley smoked salmon and scrambled eggs were fine, and staff are very nice. The location and view are also in this hotel’s favour. However, the general feel of the place is one of dinginess and tired decay. We apparently got a good deal at £120 for the night without breakfast, but we weren’t very impressed with the overall look of things. Pity as it could be lovely with a bit of investment!”

“The location is fabulous as is the view across the beautiful Norfolk countryside. You are on the edge of the marshes and great coastal walks begin just yards from the front door. What makes The George exceptional, though, is the food - a special mention for the jus (not just gravy!) which is divine.”
