“We decided to stop over at Hometoun Hotel to break our very long journey home from the Scottish Highlands. It is about a 10 minute drive from the M74 to the village of Leadhills. We had a warm welcome from the staff and the locals in the bar. Our room was large and very comfortable with plenty of tea, coffee and milk. The bathroom was also very large with a walk in shower and a separate roll top bath. Unfortunately the bath was out of action due to a faulty tap. The evening meal in the bar and the Scottish breakfast next morning were both really good and the staff were again helpful and friendly. We then had a short, trouble free drive back to the motorway, after a very pleasant stay at the Hometoun Hotel”
