“This is a very homely hotel, not your usual corporate fare, and they clearly have a lot of repeat business judging by the number of guests and staff on first name terms which speaks for itself. I had a single room which was small but comfortable with nice quality modern furnishings, an excellent shower and comfortable bed. The hotel is less than 10 minutes drive to Brentwood high street which is full of pubs and eateries but you would be missing out if you didn't use the restaurant which is reasonably priced and very good. I dined in the restaurant both nights and the food and the service were excellent with both reasonably healthy and more indulgent choices on the menu. The drinks prices compare favourably too. All of the staff were friendly and welcoming but I have to give a special thanks to Susan who brought me a very welcome fresh hot honey and lemon as she noticed I was feeling a bit under the weather and its that kind of thing that helps make the difference.”
