“Great location. We were able to walk to KU football stadium, then sunday morning we walked downtown to find many great independent shops and restaurants. The hotel has a few different restaurants, very friendly wait staff. We brought our kids ages 4 and 8 and found the restaurants kid friendly. Our kids called the Oread our castle, we could usually see it from anywhere we had walked to so could always find our way home easily. Would definitely stay here again for a game.”

“My co-worker and I were on our way to participate in an event in Iowa called RAGBRAI. This is my 9th consecutive year to participate in this event. I have stayed in Lawrence, KS the last 4 years. I have stayed at the Eldridge Hotel the past three years and this year it was completely booked the night I needed to stay overnight in Lawrence. I always look for historical, well-kept hotels and the Oread did not let me down. Very impressed with how "old" the place felt even though it was only 7 years old. I'm glad it is in the same family as the Eldridge Hotel. I will do a coin toss next year on which hotel I will be staying in while in Lawrence, KS.”
