“Lovely staff, great food and fantastic selection of drinks. The hotel is undergoing well needed renovation.”
“Very friendly and helpful staff. The owner of the hotel helped me and my girlfriend sort out a flat tyre on our car too which was much appreciated as we were completely out of our depth! Would highly recommend the place!”
“Lovely comfy bed and luxury duvet. Hair dryer provided and clean room and shower/toilet. Shower gel provided.”
“Excellent evening meal and breakfast. Excellent shower.”
“The room was very clean. The bed was so comfortable.”
“Like the room but bed was too high needs a step to get up”
“Room was good window overlooked the back of the hotel which was a building site, bathroom lovely. Dinner was lovely but the dining room is small and there was a family in having dinner and they were next to us. Very much a local pub!!”
“Hotel being refurbished, has great potential. ALL staff very friendly, nothing too much trouble for anyone. Good to see management getting totally involved”
“The hotel's own restaurant and chefs were really great. The pizza I ordered - just before the kitchen closed - after a very long drive, was made from scratch in the Italian style with excellent vegetarian fresh ingredients. The local craft beer was good too. The bed was comfortable, and though the hotel is still being renovated, this did not impinge at all on my comfort or safety. In fact the new bathroom was of a much higher spec than you might expect for an 1860s railway hotel. The historic link to the Co-Op building opposite, the war memorial garden, the railway bridge and the famous Carnforth Station, with its bar, café and tea room, famous for Brief Encounter [David Lean, Noel Coward, Trevor Howard, Deborah Kerr, 1945] all give a poignant sense of connection and heart to the town. I picked Carnforth as a stopping point on a very long journey almost at random. I'm very glad I did.”
“Liked the shower room, the comfort of the bed and the proximity of the station.”
