“Initial impressions (down a dirt road, inoperative entry gate and quite subdued ambience) were soon dispelled. There is a real “African game park” feel to the views of the lake from the hotel. Elephants. The staff.”

The staff and amazing, could not be better. An easy bicycle ride to the ruins. We did the fishing boat tour on the lake at sunset, I would recommend! Stay here for relaxing and very comfortable accommodation.”

Professional, well trained and always willing to help with a smile. Rooms are spacious and clean. And last but not least..the vieuw is amazing and you can even take a swim in the clean pool. “The hotel is located alongside a beautiful lake nearby the ancient city. The small drive led to the hotel is tough and you might miss it. The room is spacious; the air conditioning is strong; the shower is not too satisfying; the food is unexpectedly GOOD - the best Sri Lanka curry I tried on my way, including those at pricy places. We ordered room service for dinner as the public dining area is full of flying insects- I guess it quite normal when you are by the lake. The raised a house elephant, looking beautiful in daylight, making the whole lakeview scene peaceful. Given time, you should try the swimming pool. At night - we found two small frogs getting through the water tube and jumped out from our water basin- they are small like finger size. I gently carried them and brought them back to the garden. ”

“The hotel is incredibly well located and the facilities are nice. Elephants go very close to the hotel after the sun sets because they know that if they do, they will be fed. We were just a few steps away from some elephants which decided to visit the hotel. It was awesome. As for the hotel itself, the staff are super friendly and cooperative. There was a terrible storm on the day we arrived and water kept coming into the room because of the strong winds. The hotel staff gave us another room while the storm passed and then sent us to a dry room. To make up for the inconvenience, they provided dinner free of charge.”
