“This was the fourth time we have stayed at Villa Belfiore and it's always a pleasure. The hotel is run directly by the owners and both they and their staff go out of their way to make guests feel welcome. The breakfasts and dinners are a main feature with such a wide selection of fresh fruit and vegetables, all grown in the grounds and the pool and surroundings are ideally located to catch the sun all day. The local village (Ostellato) is a ten-minute walk away and has a variety of bars and restaurants to suit all tastes. Villa Belfiore is a restful place to stay and is well situated for trips to historic towns, like Ferrara (20 mins by car), Commachio (10 minutes) and Bologna (50 mins), as well as day trips to Venice and Padua. So, excellent food, welcoming owners and staff and a great pool: what's not to like!!”

“Lovely staff - I was given tea in front of the log fire on arrival. I stayed in the modern block: the bedrooms are very warm (it was a February visit). I liked being able to order eggs for breakfast (not being a fan of sweet things first thing).”
