“The hotel was a great base for our stay in Stone Town. Beautiful historic building in Swahili style with many original features. The staff is top class, flexible very helpful and good humored. Rooms are clean, comfortable, not too hot with lots of light. I would certainly consider returning!”
“the room was very nice and the restaurant at the rooftop was excellent for sitting and relaxing”
“The building is a classic Zanzibar style, very authentic and charming. I love how it isn’t hidden on a little side street where local families are cooking and hanging out. Very affordable accommodations and friendly staff.”
“Everything’s was lovely until we checked out and needed assistance with our luggage from the front door to our taxi. We were not given assistance and felt Customer service is non existent once you pay. Which is sad really because it is once a customer leaves you should make them smile even more so they leave good reviews and recommend to others.”
“I can't inmagine they have Spanish omelet for breakfast. Also have fresh juice, coffee and ginger tea on the roof canteen. Comfortable and enjoy a lot with kind staff.”
“Clean and big rooms typical Zanzibari house with all mod cons”
“Friendly, helpful and efficient staff. Great rooftop terrace with an honesty fridge stocked with water, soda and beer which made things simple and carefree. Charming building full of character. AC, hot water, WiFi on terrace , clean and comfortable linen and rooms.”
“This is a sensitively modernised ancient hotel with great character. Its an easy walk to Stone Town's sights and shopping. The staff look after you and there is a rooftop trust bar with great views. Its a lovely place to stay.”
“The bed was very comfortable and had a mosquito net. The breakfast was delicious. The location is great, hidden from the noise of crazy Zanzibar Town, but close to all the main places like restaurants and the ferry.”
“Wonderful historic building - but of course that restricts the physical size of rooms, introduces some quirkiness with respect to odd levels in corridors, steep stairs and somewhat idiosyncratic plumbing and, specific to Stone Town, necessity to walk 150 m or so from the nearest point accessible to a taxi, but overall a really pleasant experience.”
