“The couple that own the hotel were kind, generous, attentive and accommodating. The night we arrived, Angel, the husband, was able to set us up with a last-minute taxi and guide for the next morning to lead us on a day hike to Hidroeléctrica, from which we planned to walk to Aguas Calientes/Machupicchu town. They also watched our car for us until we returned the next day (although see the above note as a caveat). And that night they helped guide us to the nearby Cocalmayo thermal baths when Google Maps majorly failed us. Lastly, breakfast each morning was a premium version of the one we commonly found in Peruvian hotels and hostels: delicious eggs; good quality bread, butter and jam; tea and concentrated brewed (not instant) coffee; and fantastic freshly made orange and papaya juices.”
